Stop At Two is Colorado’s premier harm reduction alcohol program.
Have you ever wanted to reduce the amount of alcohol you consume? Like many people you may think that you are starting to drink too much but you don’t yet have a problem with alcohol. You may find yourself at home or at social engagements, at business meetings, business dinners, golf outings or other social functions and realize that you are drinking too much. You may even wake up the next day and realize you drank too much and maybe you said something or did something about which you will be embarrassed. You may lose business deals or contracts because you may have had too much to drink. You may have AUD, or Alcohol User Disorder. Also known as alcohol addiction and alcoholism, AUD covers everything from the occasional binge drinker to the chronic daily drinker.
Stop At Two is Colorado's premier alcohol use reduction program. Using The Sinclair Method (TSM) and psychotherapy services, Stop At Two is able to reduce your alcohol intake back to what would be considered normal amounts.
Have you tried quitting cold turkey? This may have caused what’s known as the alcohol deprivation effect where once the honeymoon period of sobriety wears off, you’re left with constant physical cravings for alcohol. You can’t drive by a liquor store without wanting to stop. You avoid socializing with family and with your friends because you know you can’t stop at just one or two drinks. Millions of people are swept up in an alcohol problem where they no longer have control… the alcohol is in control no matter how disciplined they are in other areas of their life.
Most of the information you are going to receive when you try to find help is going to steer you towards abstinence and twelve step programs. You may hear that you are an alcoholic. You will definitely hear that you need to stop drinking, and yes, there are people who need to stop drinking completely. This is true. Many of our patients fall into this category. And we can help patients stop drinking completely if that is the goal.
Stop At Two believes that some people with alcohol use disorder do not want to stop drinking completely but don't know where else to turn for help. Using The Sinclair Method we are able to significantly reduce a person's cravings for alcohol, sometimes even to the point where the patient no longer drinks at all.
